About Us
On the 14th August 1995, LDI Signs was
started after Lindsay and Denise Houston sold L.A. Services which they had
run for over 10 years after starting from under their house in Mudjimba.
With the sign supply business out of the way, the decision was made to wind
down a bit and go back to the love of painting and building cars and doing
the occasional sign to help pay the
bills. Ten years down the track again,
having moved from Palmwoods to six and a quarter acres on the highway at
Pomona, put their son Luke through as an apprentice signwriter they now have
six full time employees and two part timers as well as themselves working
flat out, producing wild paint jobs and assembling many customers vehicles
to turnkey condition.
Expansion
of the business is continuing with the adding of a spraybooth and a new 9m x 9m shed for
completing and assembling of painted vehicles. Some recent vehicles of
note are the paint and assembly of
Cruzin Wagon,
Paul McKennariey's Hudson,
Marshall Peron's F100 and
Butch Walkers's Hudson.
Among some of their own cars created over
the last 10 years include
Redsled (1951 Plymouth Custom), Deadsled (trailer
to match,
Misled (1966 Cadillac Coupe),
Ambosled (1949 Ford
Ambulance),
Bubsled (1960 Chev Bubble Top), NoSled (1934 Ford Coupe) and
just for a change
Coolmint (1946 Morris pickup). A
1963 GMC pickup will be
completed shortly.
